Meet Alyssa George – Administrative Assistant
A native of Morgantown, WV, George opted to remain in her home state to pursue her career, motivated by a strong desire to contribute to local initiatives and promote growth within her community.
As an administrative assistant for the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium and NASA EPSCoR, George plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various program functions. Her responsibilities, which include managing reporting requirements, reporting and data collection for program awards, and providing comprehensive program support services, have a significant impact on program deliverables and project integrity. George’s role requires a blend of judgment, resourcefulness, and originality, with the guidance of diverse precedents to effectively handle tasks.
George’s active role as the WVSGC Lead for the Space Flight Design Challenge (Rock-Sat) program is a testament to her passion for STEM initiatives. In addition to her administrative duties, she dedicates herself to this program, as highlighted by her participation in the 2023 Sounding Rocket launch at Wallops Flight Facility, where she witnessed the launch firsthand.
