A few words from some of our 2024-2025 NASA Ambassadors….
Sonya Carper- West Virginia Wesleyan College
“This year has been an incredibly transformative experience, marked by personal growth, professional development, and unforgettable opportunities. As an ambassador for the West Virginia Space Grant Consortium during its inaugural year for the program, I have gained invaluable knowledge and skills that will continue to shape my career and future aspirations. From participating in NASA Day and attending the NASA National Space Grant Directors Conference in Washington, D.C., to engaging in outreach events such as WVWC Space Day and High School Science Day at Marshall University, each experience has reinforced my passion for STEM and advocacy.”
Ximena Cabrera Vega – West Virginia University
My time as a NASA WVSGC Ambassador has been nothing but wonderful. I have had the opportunity to connect with so many people in the Statler College at West Virginia University and beyond to share some of the many NASA opportunities that are offered to students. Being an ambassador has allowed me to learn so much about the company that I have admired ever since I was little. Overall, my experience being an ambassador has been great, it allowed me to become a leader and pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way by strengthening my public speaking skills and boosting my confidence.
